Olympic champion skier Lara Gut-Behrami is planning to retire after Milano Cortina 2026.The 34-year-old Swiss won super-G gold and giant slalom bronze at Beijing 2022, adding to the downhill bronze she won at Sochi 2014.Gut-Behrami is also a two-time overall World Cup champion, and revealed her upcoming plans at an event in Zurich.She is set to move to England next year with her husband Valon Behrami, the former Switzerland football international who is taking on a boardroom role at Watford FC, a Championship club based near London.“I certainly won’t be a cleaning lady,” Gut-Behrami said.Gut-Behrami is no stranger to Cortina d’Ampezzo and will hope to bow out in style next year.She won super-G and giant slalom gold there at the 2021 world championships, as well as bronze in the downhill.Gut-Behrami also ended her 2024-25 season with two World Cup wins in Sun Valley, USA, winning both the super-G and giant slalom.That took her tally to 48 World Cup wins and 100 podiums. She won the overall titles in 2015-16 and 2023-24, and was second for the third time last season.
