The Monte Carlo stage is set for a grand showdown on Sunday, as World No.1 Carlos Alcaraz takes on his biggest rival and World No.2 Jannik Sinner in the final. This is their first meeting of the season and the first clash on clay since the epic 2025 French Open final. The title and the ATP No.1 ranking are on the line, making this match even more significant. As always, we at LWOT will predict the final, but who will lift the trophy?ATP Monte Carlo Final PredictionCarlos Alcaraz vs Jannik SinnerHead-to-Head: Alcaraz 10-6 SinnerDefending champion Carlos Alcaraz had to be switched on in the semifinals against Valentin Vacherot, who played some inspired tennis in the second set and did a great job of using the crowd to his advantage. However, Alcaraz never looked in any trouble and upped his level in time to win the match. The Spaniard’s defense-to-offense transition has been as seamless as ever this week, which has made it extremely difficult for opponents to win points against him.Jannik Sinner started slowly and even lost a set to Tomas Machac in the third round. However, since then, he has hit top gear and played a flawless match against Alexander Zverev in the semifinals. Alcaraz can trouble Sinner like no other player on the tour because of his variety and unpredictability. Sinner has also added some variety to his game, which has been on full display this week. He has played a lot of drop shots in his last two matches and has hardly lost any points behind them. But against Alcaraz, finding the right balance will be key. Sinner’s biggest strength is still his serve, return and baseline prowess. On clay, I will give Alcaraz the advantage from the baseline because of the angles and spin he can create with his forehand, so the serve-return dynamic is critical for the Italian. Sinner’s first serve percentage has been low this week, and he must improve it. If Alcaraz gets too many looks at the second serve, he will use his forehand to dictate the rallies and pull the Italian to uncomfortable positions. I think Sinner will hold his serve easier and suffocate Alcaraz on return to win this match.Prediction: Sinner in 3Main Photo Credit: Mike Frey-Imagn Images
