TUCSON, Ariz.- The Arizona Wildcats opened the spring with a pair of dominant home wins Friday at the Lanelle Robson Tennis Center, rolling past UC Davis 6-1 before closing the day with a 7-0 sweep of UC San Diego to move to 2-0 on the season.

Arizona set the tone early against UC Davis by securing the doubles point behind wins on courts two and one. Tanvi Narendran and Danielle Tuhten earned a 6-1 victory over Isabella Bringas (UCD) and Maya Youssef (UCD), and Josie Usereau and Stephanie Shogreen followed with a 6-4 decision against Mika Ikemori (UCD) and Polina Marakhtanova UCD) to clinch the point.

The Wildcats carried that momentum into singles, highlighted by Martyna Ostrzygalo's straight-set win at No. 1, 6-2, 6-0, while Usereau, Narendran and Shogreen also delivered victories in two sets. Tuhten added another point at No. 4 after taking the first-set tiebreaker, 7-6 (7-2), before the match was decided.

Arizona turned around and completed the day with a clean sweep against UC San Diego, winning all three doubles matches by identical 6-2 scores to take the opening point. Ostrzygalo and Ciara Moore started the doubles success on court one, while Usereau and Shogreen, along with Narendran and Tuhten, followed suit to make it 1-0 entering singles.

In singles, the Wildcats again delivered across the lineup, with Narendran cruising to a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 5 and Ostrzygalo adding a 6-3, 6-1 victory at No. 1. Moore picked up her first singles win as a Wildcat with a 7-5, 6-4 decision at No. 2, while Usereau and Shogreen earned straight-set wins and Tuhten battled through a three-set thriller to complete the shutout.
