Alexandra Eala advanced to the Eastbourne quarter-finals after Jelena Ostapenko retired due to injury in the third set of their match on Wednesday (25 June).The Filipina tennis star had already beaten Ostapenko during her incredible run to the semi-finals at the Miami Open in March.And though Ostapenko, the third seed and 2017 French Open champion, started strongly against Eala with a 6-0 first set, the 20-year-old fought back to win the second set 6-2.Eala was then 3-2 up in the decider when an ankle injury forced Ostapenko to retire.
