Shivam Dube gets crucial wicket of Tim David for 74 in AUS vs IND 2025 3rd T20I

Tilak Varma took a brilliant catch near the boundary ropes as Shivam Dube took the prized wicket of Tim David in the third T20I between India and Australia in Hobart on Sunday, November 2. David departed after a quickfire 74 run-knock off just 38 deliveries at a strike rate of 194.74, hitting five sixes and eight boundaries.

The dismissal came off the last delivery of the 13th over during Australia’s innings. After being struck for two sixes earlier in the over, Dube bowled a fuller-length ball on middle, and David moved forward to loft, but it was a flat-batted shot.

Varma moved towards his left to grab the catch, ensuring he stayed inches away from the boundary skirtings at long-off. Dube came up with a double first-pump to celebrate the wicket.

Tim David and Marcus Stoinis' half-centuries help Australia set a 187-run target for India in the 3rd T20I

A clinical batting display from Tim David and Marcus Stoinis helped Australia post 186/6 against India in the third T20I. Apart from David, Stoinis scored 64 runs off 39 balls, comprising two sixes and eight fours. Matthew Short also chipped in with an unbeaten 26 off 15 deliveries.

Meanwhile, big guns Travis Head and skipper Mitchell Marsh perished for 6 (4) and 11 (14), respectively. Josh Inglis and Mitchell Owen also failed to deliver with the bat, departing for 1 (7) and 0 (1), respectively.

Arshdeep Singh starred with the ball for India, finishing with figures of 3/35. Varun Chakaravarthy also bagged two wickets.

Australia are leading the five-match series 1-0. Chasing 126, the Aussies won the second T20I by four wickets in Melbourne. The opening T20I was abandoned due to rain. Thus, Suryakumar Yadav and company would be keen to bounce back and level the series 1-1. The Men in Blue haven’t lost a bilateral T20I series since winning the 2024 T20 World Cup.
