The Creighton men's tennis team saw its season come to an end in the BIG EAST Championship match as the second-seeded Bluejays fell to the eight-time BIG EAST Champions and top-seeded St. John's, 4-0, at the BIG EAST Championships Presented by JEEP on Sunday morning.Creighton finishes its historic season with an 16-11 overall record, capping off the year with its first appearance in the BIG EAST Tournament finals and matching its most wins in a single season since 1992-93."First of all, we want to wish everyone a Happy Easter. Go Jays."St. John's stormed out to a 1-0 lead, earning victories on the top two doubles positions. The Johnnies Max Amling and Armando Sotelo teamed up for a 6-2 win on the No. 1 doubles courts, while Carl Gustavson and Danilo Raicevic clinched the doubles point with a 6-3 victory on the No. 2 doubles court.The Red Storm would extend their lead to 2-0 as Ryota Kaneda opened singles play with a 6-4, 6-2 victory over seniorat the No. 6 singles position.St. John's lead continued to grow as Ignacio Vinas defeatedwith a 6-3, 6-1 triumph at the No. 3 singles spot, before Leonardo Mileikowsky clinched the Johnnies eighth BIG EAST Title with a 6-2, 6-3 victory over juniorat the No. 4 singles position.Sunday's match marked the final collegiate match at Creighton forand. The trio has combined for 150 total wins as Bluejays with Gandini leading the way with 92 total victories. Neil compiled 45 total wins for the Bluejays, while Eason posted 13 victories in two seasons with Creighton.
