How much Chelsea could expect to receive from Liverpool amid Rio Ngumoha tribunal

Chelsea fans were covering their eyes in horror at the end of Liverpool’s 3-2 win over Newcastle for more reasons than one.

While one of their Premier League title rivals were finding the net to win the game in the 100th minute, it was former Chelsea youngster Rio Ngumoha who struck the winning goal in his first league appearance.

Blues supporters looked on in jealousy at Ngumoha, with them starting to be made aware that they have made a big mistake not convincing him to stay at Stamford Bridge.

It was reported Ngumoha didn’t see a pathway to the Chelsea first team 12 months ago, and this was behind him making his move to Anfield.

Chelsea could expect to make more than £4m on Rio Ngumoha tribunial

Arne Slot has utilised the youngster in pre-season, and Ngumoha scored a stunning goal in a friendly which has clearly convinced his manager that he should be utilised in the upcoming campaign.

As of now, Chelsea are yet to receive a fee for the attacker, although there is a tribunal set to take place to determine if they are owed anything by the Reds.

When looking at how much they could earn, The Athletic have stated that they could be looking to earn around about what Liverpool paid Fulham to sign Harvey Elliott when he was 16, which was £4.3m.

The youngster has not yet even signed a professional contract, as he is unable to do so until he turns 17 in September.

Everyone who was involved in the academy was well aware of the talent the youngster had, and were unhappy when they couldn’t convince him to stay in West London.

One key figure who is still working with the future of football at Cobham is John Terry, and he was one of those who was wary of the circumstances.

Terry described Ngumoha as a ‘top, top player’, and the rest of the footballing world are beginning to see it during his time at Liverpool.

There must now be more caution when Chelsea decide to part ways with any of their youngsters, especially if there are any other top Premier League sides interested in bringing them in.
