Green Wave Drops Intense Match to No. 49 Memphis

– In a time constrained match that only saw singles competition Tulane men's tennis fell 4-1 to No. 49 Memphis on Sunday at the Hilton Riverside.With the loss the Wave dropped to 5-15 overall and 1-6 against American Athletic Conference opponents. Meanwhile, the 49th-ranked Tigers improved to 13-11 on the year.Tulane fell behind quickly as Memphis claimed points on courts two and three to put the Wave down 2-0. On court onebattled to put the Green Wave on the board with a three-set victory.After winning his first set on court four,was unable to hold on against the Tigers as the Tulane deficit grew to 3-1.andcontinued to fight for the Wave but unfortunately Memphis earned the match clinching point on court six over Rice.Up next, Tulane will return home to close the regular season with a doubleheader at City Park Tennis Center on Friday, April 11.
