SL vs OMA T20 World Cup: Sri Lanka defeated Oman by 105 runs in their T20 World Cup fixture in Pallekele on Thursday. Defending a target of 226 runs, Sri Lanka restricted Oman to 120/9 in 20 overs, with Maheesh Theekshana and Dushmantha Chameera taking two-wicket hauls respectively. Meanwhile, Mohammad Nadeem got a half-century, smacking an unbeaten knock of 53* off 56 balls. Sri Lanka posted 225/5 in 20 overs against Oman in their T20 World Cup fixture, on Thursday. Kusal Mendis smacked 61 off 45 balls and was totally dominant. Meanwhile, even Pavan Rathnayake (60 off 28 balls), Dasun Shanaka (50 off 20 balls) got half-centuries for Sri Lanka. Meanwhile, Jiten Ramanandi took two wickets for Oman. Sri Lanka lost both openers as Pathum Nissanka (13) and Kamil Mishara (8) departed in the sixth and second over respectively. Nissanka lost his wicket to Sufyan Mehmood and Jay Odedra removed Kamil Mishara (8). Taking on Sri Lanka in their second 2026 T20 World Cup fixture, Oman won the toss and opted to bowl in Pallekele on Thursday.
