Man Utd loanee Marcus Rashford breaks silence and sends 22-word message after Aston Villa defeat to Man City

Manchester United player Marcus Rashford has now dropped his clear-cut verdict after Aston Villa tasted defeat at the hands of Manchester City on Tuesday.

Marcus Rashford has been on loan at Aston Villa since February after the Manchester United loanee fell down the pecking order under Ruben Amorim at Old Trafford.

Villa reportedly agreed to cover the large majority of Rashford’s United wages and the Premier League club did not have to pay a loan fee for the transfer.

Rashford could make his exit from the Red Devils at the end of his loan spell, with Villa having the option to buy the 27-year-old United star for a £40m transfer fee.

The Villa player has received a second chance to revive his career away from Old Trafford and he has played regularly under manager Unai Emery at Villa Park.

Rashford, who is under contract with United until 2028, has scored four times and picked up six assists in 17 matches for Villa since the start of his loan spell.

Man Utd player Marcus Rashford speaks out after Aston Villa’s defeat to Manchester City in the Premier League

Marcus Rashford led the frontline for Aston Villa in Tuesday’s 2-1 defeat to defending Premier League champions Manchester City at the Etihad.

Bernardo Silva broke the deadlock in the seventh minute before Rashford equalised for Unai Emery’s men from the spot-kick in the 18th minute of the match.

Pep Guardiola’s side snatched all three Premier League points on the night after Matheus Nunes scored deep into second-half injury time at the Etihad.

Rashford played 76 minutes for Villa in the Premier League defeat before Villa manager Emery withdrew him for England international Ollie Watkins.

The England and Manchester United forward took to Instagram after the match and Rashford made his feelings clear about the outcome against City at the Etihad.

“Losing a game in the last minutes was tough, but we have to stay focused and be ready for the next game,” he said.

Youri Tielemans’ reaction to Aston Villa dropping important Premier League points against Man City

Speaking after the 2-1 Premier League defeat, Youri Tielemans admitted his frustration at Aston Villa failing to secure a single point against City on the night.

“So frustrating to lose in the last minute of the game where we fought really hard – we blocked pretty much everything,” he told Sky Sports, as per BBC Sport.

“To lose like that on that last action is so frustrating. We got the first chance and they got the last one. They score, we don’t, that’s football.

“We have four games in the Premier League left. We’re going to give our all and hopefully we get a good result in and be back where we want to be in the Champions League positions.

“We have to analyse and see where we can be better. Saturday, we have the semi-final [in the FA Cup] which we can hopefully win.

“Now we have full focus on that. We are going to be having a tough night and then focusing on that.”

Villa are in the hunt for a Champions League spot for next season and Emery’s men are seventh in the Premier League table with only four league matches remaining.
