Brentford have teamed up with Fantasy Football Scout to help bring you hints, tips and advice during the 2024/25 Fantasy Premier League (FPL) season.

Scout will be using their expertise to provide info, advice and Gameweek tips which may prove useful in ensuring you sit on top of your mini-leagues.

Best of the Bees

By leading Brentford to victory on Saturday, Bryan Mbeumo (£7.9m) become the second FPL player to reach the 200-point milestone after Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah (£13.8m).

Mbeumo broke the deadlock by collecting a through ball and firing a right-footer past Brighton goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen. He put the Bees back ahead on 48 minutes, later adding an assist in one of seven chances created.

The 25-year-old is having such a great season that this 18-point haul isn’t even his biggest.

Mbeumo’s biggest haul of the season came against Southampton in Gameweek 20 where he registered 19 points.

The midfielder has six double-digit returns and a further three nine-point returns where he against came close to more double-digit Gameweeks.

Furthermore, no midfielder or forward has played more minutes than him, starting all 33 matches and being taken off just three times.

FPL managers will be pleased to see Mbeumo participating in Blank Gameweek 34, when four teams won’t be.

Mbeumo’s strike partner Yoane Wissa (£6.5m) saw an early chance saved but set up Mbeumo’s second. His friend returned the favour by cutting the ball back during a devastating second-half counter attack to make it 3-1.

It was Christian Nørgaard (£4.8m) who headed home a free-kick to secure Brentford’s 4-2 victory deep into stoppage-time.

The Spotlight

German international Kevin Schade (£5.1m) will be wondering how he didn’t get an attacking return against the Seagulls.

He set up that initial big chance for Wissa, before having had one himself later on. Of his eight touches inside the penalty area, three of them were shots.

In fact, he’s only slightly behind Mbeumo and Wissa for 2024/25 box touches despite playing notably fewer minutes.

But Schade has started 11 successive league matches, making him an interesting midfield differential for any Gameweek 34 Free Hit users.

For managers not using this chip, he’s at the same price point as non-playing duo Morgan Rogers (£5.7m) and Ismaïla Sarr (£5.8m).

We saw in Gameweek 13 just how explosive he can be. A hat-trick and assist versus Leicester brought in 23 points, which is still this season’s second-biggest haul for one match.

Best of the Rest

In the opening 10 matches of the Gameweek, Mbeumo was top scorer. Arsenal's Leandro Trossard (£6.7m) was narrowly behind the Brentford man having secured 16 points in the Gunners’ 4-0 win at Ipswich Town.

Elsewhere, Villa’s Ollie Watkins (£8.9m) took out his recent rotation frustrations on Newcastle, scoring within 33 seconds and going on to provide an assist.

Wissa was one of several to accumulate 11 points.

In Demand

Over 68 per cent of FPL managers haven’t yet used their Free Hit chip, as many were waiting for an opportunity like Blank Gameweek 34.

The same four sides playing twice this week won’t be featuring at all due to the FA Cup semi-finals.

Activating a Free Hit allows you to have a one-week-only squad. With Wolves, Fulham and Newcastle facing sides within the relegation zone, assets like Matheus Cunha (£6.8m), Rayan Aït-Nouri (£4.9m) and Harvey Barnes (£6.0m) are understandably amongst the most-bought.

Those seeking a huge differential could go for Ryan Sessegnon (£4.1m) – a cheap defender who is playing as Fulham’s right-winger.

He’s grabbed three goals and two assists in seven matches despite a trio of these appearances lasting under 15 minutes.

Captaincy

These Wolves and Fulham names could be worth an armband punt but Alexander Isak (£9.5m) at home to Ipswich will still be the automatic choice for many.

Newcastle need to quickly bounce back from their thrashing at Aston Villa if they want to qualify for the Champions League. Their 21-goal striker is expected to deliver.

As for Salah, he’s surprisingly goalless in four outings but Liverpool could secure the Premier League title by the end of their Tottenham match if they haven’t already been crowned champions after Arsenal’s midweek fixture against Crystal Palace.
