Setback for Pakistan as Haris Rauf likely to miss Bangladesh tour due to injury

LAHORE – A major setback for Pakistan ahead of upcoming tour of Bangladesh as star pacer Haris Rauf is likely to miss the tour due to injury.

Haris Rauf sustained a hamstring injury during the ongoing Major League Cricket (MLC) in the United States.

Rauf, who was representing the San Francisco Unicorns in the MLC, suffered the injury while playing for his franchise.

The team management confirmed that the fast bowler has been ruled out of the remainder of the tournament due to fitness concerns.

In an official statement, the San Francisco Unicorns announced that Rauf has been replaced by New Zealand fast bowler Ben Lister in the squad.

Sources close to the team revealed that Rauf has been diagnosed with a Grade 1 hamstring strain. The injury not only ends his MLC campaign but also puts his availability for Pakistan’s upcoming tour of Bangladesh in serious doubt.

Rauf had been in exceptional form during the tournament and was the leading wicket-taker in the MLC prior to his injury — a testament to his performance and rhythm.

Pakistan team management is keeping a close watch on his recovery but his participation in the national squad for the Bangladesh tour will depend on his fitness progress in the coming days.
