The Sydney Sixers proudly recognised their top performers and major milestones at the Cricket NSW Annual Awards Night, held tonight at the Sydney Cricket Ground.Sixers captain Ashleigh Gardner was awarded the Sydney Sixers WBBL Player of the Tournament, while young‑gun Joel Davies received the BBL Player of the Tournament.In her first season as captain, Gardner delivered repeated game‑defining performances, steering the Sixers to second place on the ladder and a semi‑final berth.Her impact with bat, ball and leadership was instrumental in the team’s success, scoring 143 runs and taking 19 wickets, including a season‑best 5/15.Rising star Joel Davies capped off his breakout KFC BBL|15 season by being named the Sydney Sixers BBL Player of the Tournament.Davies’ consistency, maturity and ability to make big plays under pressure marked him as one of the most exciting young talents in the competition.The Club also recognised significant achievements from key players during the 2025–26 season.Sixers captain and club legend Moises Henriques was acknowledged for reaching the milestone of 150 BBL matches—a testament to his longevity, resilience and leadership across more than a decade in the league.Henriques is now the most‑capped player in the history of the BBL, an outstanding achievement, having played all his games in Sixers Magenta.Long‑serving Sixer Daniel Hughes was recognised for playing his 100th match for the Club, highlighting his consistency and tremendous contribution to the Magenta.The Club also formally acknowledged the retirement of Alyssa Healy, one of the most iconic and influential players in Sydney Sixers and Australian cricket history.Healy’s career in Magenta included two championships, unforgettable match‑winning performances and an enduring legacy as a trailblazer of the women’s game.Sydney Sixers General Manager Rachael Haynes congratulated all players recognised.“Ash took on the captaincy with real intent and composure, leading by example to elevate the players around her and delivering when it mattered.“Her influence on and off the field was a major factor in our success this season.“Joel’s development this year has been fantastic to watch.“He embraced every challenge, made a real impact in crucial moments and will be an exciting part of our club’s future.“It was also great to see Alyssa (Healy), Moises (Henriques) and Dan (Hughes) recognised for their career achievements as longstanding and much‑loved members of our club.“The Sydney Sixers congratulate all award winners and milestone recipients, and thank players, staff, partners and supporters for their continued passion and contribution to another memorable summer of cricket.”
