The Saudi Pro League’s offer for Liverpool attacker Mohamed Salah remains on the table, sources have confirmed to TBR Football.Salah remains the Pro League’s most-desired target, and the player himself has ambitions to play in the Middle East at some stage.Last summer, the Saudi Pro League failed to sign the 33-year-old, and instead, Salah signed a bumper new contract at Liverpool, making him the highest-paid player in their history. However, his form has been somewhat lacking this term, and as a team, Liverpool have struggled to recapture their title-winning form amid the introduction of a host of new names.Sources: Mohamed Salah’s move to the Saudi Pro League remains on the tableMohamed Salah is again being linked with a move in 2026, and sources have told TBR Football’s chief correspondent, Graeme Bailey, that the prospect of a move to Saudi Arabia remains a plausible option.Pro League officials helped put together a deal that would put him in the same bracket as Cristiano Ronaldo, who is the top earner in football with his contract at Al-Nassr.Salah is being offered a deal of around £150 million a year, which would also include him becoming a Tourism ambassador and having the right to part-ownership of a club in the future. The Egyptian superstar wants to spread the word of football throughout Asia, Africa and to the Muslim community, highlighting that anyone can follow in his footsteps.Speaking more about the situation, Bailey told TBR Football: “Mo Salah and Pro League links won’t go away, but he doesn’t want them to; he will end up in Saudi Arabia one day.“I can confirm that the Saudis’ offer to Salah is an open one, the deal is ready for him as and when he wants it.“They are not talking to him now, and haven’t talked to him or Liverpool about a deal in January; they don’t really need to, they are ready when he is.”Wayne Rooney questions Mohamed Salah’s leadership at LiverpoolWayne Rooney has been rather critical of Salah and questioned his lack of leadership, along with Virgil van Dijk, at Liverpool this season.Rooney told The Wayne Rooney Show: “I think Van Dijk and Salah, they’ve signed new deals and whatever, but I don’t think they’ve really led that team this season.“Just performances and body language. I think body language tells you a lot, and I think we’re seeing slightly different body language from the two of them.“They’re the top two players in that team, and if their body language is not right, that affects everyone else. I might be wrong on this, but if I were a Liverpool fan or the manager, that’d be a big concern for me.”
