After a strong run at home, we’re back on the road this weekend with a trip to Suncorp Stadium to face Brisbane Roar on Saturday evening. With just two games remaining in the regular season, our focus now shifts to building on the momentum created over the past fortnight as we continue our push towards Finals football. Here’s everything you need to know ahead of Saturday’s clash in Brisbane.Finals within reachThe race for Finals has been building over recent weeks, and we’ve put ourselves in a strong position thanks to an impressive home stretch.A run of three games in eight days shaped as a defining period in our season, and we delivered when it mattered – securing three consecutive wins while conceding just once across those fixtures.Stretching a little further back, we’re on a run of five league fixtures undefeated and have conceded only twice in that period. That form has us well placed heading into the final rounds, with a Finals spot now firmly within reach. We’ll head into Saturday’s clash knowing that another three points would be enough to secure our place in the top six, and extend our league record to a 12th consecutive Finals appearance.Hitting form at the right timeAfter periods earlier in the season where goals proved hard to come by, our attacking play has begun to click into gear at the perfect time. We’ve scored multiple goals in each of our last three outings, and had things gone slightly differently, that tally could’ve been even higher given the number of chances created.Andreas Kuen and Marcus Younis have been central to much of that attacking threat, consistently finding pockets of space and creating opportunities in the final third.Around them, Elbasan Rashani and Daniel Arzani have both shown some of their best form of the campaign, adding creativity and energy out wide. The return of Mathew Leckie last weekend has also provided a significant boost. After a lengthy spell on the sidelines, his presence adds further experience and quality to an already dangerous group heading into the final rounds.A tough challenge in BrisbaneWhile it’s been a challenging campaign for Brisbane Roar, they remain a dangerous and hard-to-beat opponent.Despite falling out of Finals contention, they’ve shown resilience in recent weeks, picking up points in four of their past five matches against several Finals hopefuls.Saturday will mark our third meeting with the Roar this season. The first encounter ended in a hard-fought scoreless draw at Suncorp Stadium, before we claimed a narrow win at AAMI Park in January thanks to an early Max Caputo header in what was a typically physical contest. With both teams eager to finish the season strongly, another tight battle is expected as we look to take another important step towards securing our Finals position.Fixture Details
