Alex Eala begins her clay-court season at the Upper Austria Ladies Linz Open 2026, which starts on Monday 6 April.The rising Filipina tennis star, who broke into the world’s top 50 for the first time earlier this year, is part of a star-studded cast for the WTA 500 event.Past French Open winners Barbora Krejcikova and Jelena Ostapenko are also competing in Linz, so too Emma Raducanu and defending champion Ekaterina Alexandrova.Eala will be making her Linz Open debut and is currently ranked 45th in the world.She last competed at the Miami Open, where she exited in the round of 16 on the hard courts to Karolina Muchova, while it will be her first match on clay since the French Open at Roland Garros last year.Eala was pictured practising at the Rafa Nadal Academy in Mallorca ahead of the clay swing, where she has trained since 2018.The 20-year-old, who turns 21 in May, is also pencilled in to compete at the Stuttgart Open and Madrid Open ahead of Roland Garros.
