The UC San Diego men's tennis team's third and fourth matches in three days come in a doubleheader on Sunday, with the Tritons (4-9) losing to Tulane and Gonzaga.Tulane was victorious 4-1 in the teams' final match of the Ed Collins Classic, which was played at USD's Hogan Tennis Center. The Tritons then returned home in the afternoon to host Gonzaga, falling 4-2.picked up a win for the Tritons versus Tulane. Against Gonzaga,andwere the victors in singles play.Tulane grabbed a pair of one-break victories at No. 2 and 3 doubles to claim the doubles point. The Green Wave then rolled on to straight-set wins at No. 3, 4 and 5 singles to clinch the dual match.The Tritons were down 3-0 in the contest until Tinoco got a win on court two. He had a comfortable 6-2 win in set one before a one-break advantage in set two earned him the match victory.Lee won his first set at No. 1 singles and was tied 6-all in the second when the dual match concluded. At No. 6,lost set one in a tiebreaker but was up 2-0 early in the second at the point of interruption.The Bulldogs also beat out the Tritons for the doubles point with wins at No. 2 and 3, but the afternoon's singles action was much tighter. Gonzaga went up 2-0 in the dual match with a straight-set win at No. 3 singles, but the Tritons struck back with straight-set victories of their own from Lee (No. 1) and Rodriguez (No. 4).Tinoco fought through a long match at No. 2 singles but ultimately fell to give Gonzaga a 3-2 lead. Qian took his No. 6 match to a third set but could not hold on late as the visitors clinched the dual match.The lone match to go unfinished was at No. 5 singles.won the first set and nearly took the second but lost in a tiebreaker.The Tritons have a day off before hosting Idaho on Tuesday (March 11) at 10:00 a.m. from Northview Tennis Courts .
