Karachi Kings all-rounder Aamir Jamal was fined 5% of his match fee for a Level 1 offence during his side’s two-wicket win over Peshawar Zalmi in the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) on Monday night.Jamal was found guilty of violating Article 2.5 of the PSL Code of Conduct, which prohibits actions that could provoke an aggressive reaction from a dismissed batter.The incident took place in the 15th over of Zalmi’s innings at the National Bank Cricket Stadium, when Jamal made an inappropriate remark after dismissing Hussain Talat.On-field umpires Faisal Khan Afridi and Paul Reiffel reported the matter. Jamal admitted the offence and accepted the penalty handed down by match referee Iftikhar Ahmed.Despite the disciplinary setback, the Kings secured their third win of the tournament in a tightly contested match. Chasing 148 on a slow surface, Karachi reached the target with just three balls to spare.Hasan Ali struck the winning boundary to seal the result after the side had slipped to 133 for 8 following Shan Warner’s dismissal in the 17th over.Warner anchored the innings with a composed 60 off 47 deliveries, building crucial partnerships with Saad Baig, Muhammad Irfan Khan, Mohammad Nabi and Khushdil Shah.Opener Tim Seifert was dismissed for a golden duck by Luke Wood, and James Vince fell early as well, putting the Kings under pressure in the powerplay.Khushdil remained unbeaten on 23 off 17 balls, hitting three boundaries to guide the team home in the final over.Aami Jamal is no stranger to controversy. Late last year during the England test series, Jamal was fined for having a political message written on his cap.Karachi Kings will next face Quetta Gladiators in their sixth match of PSL 10 at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium on April 25.
