Juventus coach Luciano Spalletti admits the Bianconeri need ‘quality’ in tight spaces, amid speculation that the Bianconeri want both Bernardo Silva and Tijjani Reijnders from Manchester City.

Juventus will be looking to add more quality to the team, as Bianconeri coach Spalletti clarified on Sunday after a disappointing 1-1 home draw against already-relegated Hellas Verona.

Juventus still have a three-point lead over fifth-placed Como, but Roma will move just one point behind the Old Lady if they beat Fiorentina at the Stadio Olimpico tonight.

During his post-match interviews, Spalletti clearly explained what the club should be looking for in the summer.

“We’re lacking a bit of real quality in tight spaces, in that area of the attacking midfield,” Spalletti told Sky Sport Italia via Gazzetta.

“What we are missing is an attacking midfielder who is good in tight spaces, because that area in front of the opponents’ penalty box becomes like a swamp, and if things don’t come off, you start forcing plays, which increases frustration and difficulties.”

Juventus have already begun negotiations with Manchester City captain Bernardo Silva, who won’t extend his expiring contract with the Premier League giants and is therefore available on a free transfer.

According to Football Insider, the Bianconeri have also set their sights on Bernardo Silva’s teammate Reijnders, a former Milan star, who has been struggling for playing time in his first season at Etihad Stadium, especially in recent weeks.

Spalletti has also asked for greater quality in central defence, suggesting the club should try to sign a ball-playing centre-back.

“Certain traits shape the team,” he concluded.
