Injury scare for Mark Wood in Ashes build-up

Mark Wood is set to undergo a precautionary scan after suffering from hamstring stiffness during the warm-up game against England Lions at Lilac Hill Park in Perth, the England and Wales Cricket Board mentioned in a press release.

Wood bowled eight overs on Thursday (November 13) against the Lions and ended with figures of 8-1-29-0 before walking off the field. Wood will undergo the scan on Friday. There is an expectation that he will resume bowling again in two days' time.

Wood has had a tough 2025 after suffering a knee injury during the Champions Trophy in February which required him to undergo surgery. He thereby missed the five-match Test series against India during the English summer and was being readied for the Ashes Down Under.
