Yorkshire bring in Hasan Ali for T20 Blast

Yorkshire have signed Pakistan fast bowler Hasan Ali as one of their overseas players for the Vitality Blast. Hasan replaces Naveen-ul-Haq, who has been ruled out with injury.

Naveen, the Afghanistan quick, missed the T20 World Cup in February after suffering a stress fracture to his right shoulder and will not be fit to take up his deal at Headingley.

Hasan, 31, is hugely experienced in T20 cricket, having represented Pakistan 57 times as well as playing in leagues around the world. He claimed 44 wickets at 14.93 in three spells with Warwickshire in the Blast between 2023 and 2025, and is currently in fine form in the PSL. He has also played red-ball cricket for Lancashire.

Hasan is expected to be available for Yorkshire throughout the Blast group stage, as well as two County Championship fixtures, against Warwickshire and Leicestershire.

Gavin Hamilton, Yorkshire's general manager of cricket, said: "Whilst we're naturally disappointed to not see Naveen join us this year, in Hasan we have an exceptional replacement.

"He arrives with a wealth of experience and a skillset that we believe will be invaluable to the group. We're delighted to have secured someone of Hasan's quality at such short notice, and everyone at the Club is looking forward to welcoming him to Headingley next month."
