Virat Kohli remained unbeaten on 73 runs from 54 balls for Royal Challengers Bengaluru on Sunday (April 20) to help the Rajat Patidar-led side chase down the target of 158 runs in 18.5 overs for the loss of three wickets and win the 37th league match of this year’s IPL against Punjab Kings at Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium, Mullanpur, Chandigarh, by 7 wickets. During his stay at the crease, the former India and RCB captain hammered seven fours and one six.

The win over PBKS was RCB’s fifth win in the IPL this year. The Bengaluru-based franchise has won all five matches played away from home this season.

For his super show with the bat in the match against the Shreyas Iyer-led side, Kohli won the Player of the Match award.

The half-century on Sunday in Mullanpur was Kohli’s 59th fifty in the IPL and overall 67th 50-plus score in the world’s richest franchise cricket league. He now sits at the No. 1 position in the list of batters with the most 50+ scores in the IPL. Former Australian opening batter David Warner is second with 66 fifty-plus scores.
