Liverpool won't have to wait much longer until the summer transfer window opens on June 1. Arne Slot and his team have already been working behind the scenes on potential targets they may look to bring to the club.

The Reds have had a remarkable season under Slot, claiming the Premier League title for the first time since the 2019/20 campaign. However, to maintain that success, the Dutch manager has suggested the club must be able to afford the necessary reinforcements.

"We have just won the league, we were so competitive vs Paris Saint-Germain, it is not easy to find better players to improve us," Slot told reporters ahead of Sunday's match against Arsenal.

"They need to be available and we need to be able to afford them."

Real Madrid 'pushing' for Liverpool target

AS journalist Eduardo Burgos claims Real Madrid are pushing to get a deal over the line for Dean Huijsen. It's said the Spanish giants will hold fresh conversations with his entourage next week.

Huijsen meanwhile, is believed to be prioritising a move to the Santiago Bernabeu, despite interest from Chelsea and Liverpool.

Other reports have suggested that the 20-year-old centre-back is expected to make a decision on his future, this month. "I think I'm pretty relaxed," Huijsen previously said about the transfer rumours.

"I'm just a chill guy, just as my celebration is. I don't really think about it too much. I just go to training every morning. At the moment, I'm just having fun playing football and, yeah, it's going well so I'm really happy."

Darwin Nunez at the centre of attention

The Liverpool forward is reportedly attracting interest from Serie A giants Napoli and Atletico Madrid, amid growing speculation that he could leave Anfield. That's according to Italian publication Corriere dello Sport who cite Napoli are 'weighing up a move' for Nunez.

It’s reported that club chief Aurelio De Laurentiis is aiming to sign a new attacker this summer for manager Antonio Conte, who is hoping to secure the Serie A title this season. And Nunez is believed to be at the top of that list.

Atleti, on the other hand, are also reportedly interested in a move as they look to strengthen their attack, which already includes Julian Alvarez, Antoine Griezmann, and Alexander Sorloth.

Nunez has struggled to secure a regular spot under Arne Slot, starting just eight Premier League games this term.

Reds' Alexander Isak stance

Reports suggest that it's unlikely the club will meet Newcastle United's asking price for Alexander Isak. With Slot and his team looking to strengthen their attack this summer, the Sweden international is seen as one of the top candidates in the Premier League.

Football Insider reports that Isak is considered a dream signing for Liverpool. However, Newcastle are expected to demand over £100m for the striker. Additionally, with the Magpies likely to qualify for next season's Champions League, any potential suitors for Isak are expected to be priced out of a move.
