Gary Neville and Wayne Rooney went head-to-head with Roy Keane and Ian Wright over the Premier League outcome between Manchester United and Aston Villa.

Manchester United finally return to Premier League action on Sunday afternoon, with the Red Devils welcoming Unai Emery’s men to Old Trafford for their huge clash.

The Red Devils are third in the Premier League table and Michael Carrick’s men are level on points with fourth-place Aston Villa ahead of their weekend fixture.

Michael Carrick’s side suffered a setback on their last outing in the Premier League, as Man Utd lost 2-1 to 10-man Newcastle at St James’ Park last Wednesday.

Roy Keane and Ian Wright think Michael Carrick’s Man Utd side face a major test against Aston Villa

Roy Keane, Ian Wright and Jill Scott all teamed up and the trio did not share the Premier League winning outcome for United as Neville and Rooney both did.

Speaking as part of their prediction, United legend Keane said: “No, I will Villa get a result. I think they’re going to get a draw.”

Responding to Keane, Wright added: “I think United beat them.”

Keane then argued with Wright that Villa were unlikely to walk away from Old Trafford empty-handed and insisted that the points would be split on the day.

“Surely, there’s goals in it? No, I think Villa gets… they should have got something there at the end of last season,” Keane continued.

“You’re all writing Villa off. Go 1-1.”
