Man Utd fans have a lot to say about Bruno Fernandes to Saudi Arabia, 'indispensable' claim made

As we enter the eve of Manchester United’s semi-final second leg in the Europa League against Athletic Club, Bruno Fernandes is occupying all of the headlines.

Ruben Amorim will be desperate for Manchester United see through the semi-final against Athletic Club, holding a 3-0 lead after smashing the Spanish side over in Bilbao.

However, the build up is seeing little talk around the game as Bruno Fernandes‘ future is instead the centre of conversation amid links over the Portuguese midfielder potentially being set for a big exit this summer.

United consider Fernandes as one of four unsellable players, however, this has failed to deter the Saudi Arabian side who have wanted the 30-year-old since 2024.

Losing Fernandes would be a substantial blow for United, with the club captain having 37 goal contributions this season through all competitions which is the most at the club by almost double.

Bruno Fernandes to Al-Hilal latest

For United, there is simply no player like Fernandes with the Portuguese magnifico on the cusp of being an undisputed club legend, for carrying the team on his back for half a decade.

However, his future is now looking uncertain as Al-Hilal are planning to offer Fernandes £65m per season, while United would be looking at receiving a British record fee, according to Ben Jacobs.

Despite claims over a release clause, United in Focus understands that Fernandes has no release clause in his contract at United, which at least means the Red Devils have a say.

In addition to this, Amorim has already made it very clear that Fernandes is not for sale, which he told reporters when there was talk of Real Madrid interest last month.

With so much news around this Al-Hilal interest to consider, United fans have been reacting across social media.

Manchester United fans react to possible Bruno Fernandes exit

As expected, the prospect of losing Fernandes has not gone down well in the fanbase. With one fan writing that the midfielder is “unsellable”.

“It doesn’t matter how much we get offered for Bruno, I have zero faith that we’ll replace him with anyone vaguely near as good. We’d have got relegated this year if it wasn’t for him, he’s unsellable.”

Another then added that, “Unless an offer for Bruno Fernandes clears our debt in one go, I couldn’t care less. The man is indispensable.”

When asked how much United should ask for to compensate for losing Fernandes, one fan had a strong response. She wrote, “No one can compensate for losing a player like Bruno Fernandes, that’s the problem.”

A further fan wrote, “I will genuinely lose my love for the game if Bruno Fernandes leaves this club.”

Meanwhile a final fan commented similarly, “No one is there in football who can replace him! Period.”
