Leipzig vs. Bayern Munich

2
Initial reactions and Observations

Bayern are Bundesliga champions again! It was never in doubt! Until the last minute anyways.

Vincent Kompany’s changes were a literal game changer. Staged and completed the comeback in 21 minutes.

Leverkusen would need 30 goals to overcome the massive goal difference between them and Bayern, might as well put it in the bag and celebrate it at home next week. Sounds much better doesn’t it?

That’s all folks! Thanks a lot for sticking with us. Bayern couldn’t seal the deal outright today but they’ll be able to do so next week under better circumstances. See you next week!

90+7’ — Full time.

90+5’ — 3-3 what the hell just happened

83’ — TOR! LEROY SANE COMPLETES THE COMEBACK FOR BAYERN MUNICH! THE TITLE IS PRETTY MUCH DECIDED!!!!

62-63’ — TOR! Eric Dier heads in a goal for Bayern, then Michael Olise steals the ball at the restart, charges towards the Leipzig goal and levels the game!

45’ — Can Bayern show some smarts this time?

Halftime Observations

That is probably the worst half of football Bayern has played this season. Even worse than Barcelona, but it’s the same: a collective stinker by each and every player wearing that Bayern kit.

Vincent Kompany gets the blame for 1) fielding this lopsided lineup and 2) mismanaging the minutes of players currently out injured, leaving him in this situation.

Maybe the team wants Harry Kane to be in the pitch when he wins his first trophy (next week).

45+2’ — Thank the heavens the half has finished,

40’ — Goal. Bayern continue to play like they haven’t seen a football before.

30’ — Bayern not threatening so far.

11’ — Goal. Bayern go behind.

Kickoff — Let’s win this!

Lineups are out! Serge Gnabry, Thomas Muller, and Sacha Boey all make the starting XI. Harry Kane will sit this one out due to his suspension.

The winner of the coveted Meisterschale will now be decided today. All Bayern Munich needs to do is to beat Leipzig. That’s it. It doesn’t matter if Bayer Leverkusen win, draw, or lose against Freiburg. All that matters right now is win, at all costs. Today is the day that Bayern wrestles the Meisterschale back and remind everyone who the best team in Germany really is.

That said, they could hold off for one more matchday and win it at the Allianz Arena which would be Thomas Müller’s final home game. Leipzig meanwhile is hunting down automatic qualification for next season’s Champions League.

Bayern is top of the league with 75 points (23-6-2) while Leipzig is fifth with 51 points (13-10-8). Will Bayern finally win the league today?

It’s Bayern time.
