Kilmarnock are set to sign Calvin Ramsay on-loan.

Record Sport understands the Rugby Park outfit has struck a deal with Liverpool for the rest of the season. The Scotland international is expected to complete his move later this week. Ramsay had interest from League One and Two in England and several options in the Scottish Premiership but Derek McInnes has convinced him to move to Killie.

McInnes had the added advantage that he knows Ramsay, as he was one of the star names coming through the academy when he was manager of Aberdeen. Liverpool have been searching to get the right loan to get the 21-year-old back playing. He has had spells at Preston and Bolton last and was at Wigan Athletic for the first half of the season. Ramsay has been at Liverpool since 2022 and paid Aberdeen more than £6 million to land him.

Ramsay played just 302 minutes for Wigan in England's third tier in another frustrating loan spell having made just six appearances in total in his two previous spells at Preston and Bolton due to injury. The emergence of Northern Ireland star Connor Bradley as understudy to Liverpool hero Trent Alexander-Arnold has seen Ramsay fall even further down the pecking order under new Anfield gaffer Arne Slot, and the former Pittodrie kid will be hoping to kickstart his career again at Rugby Park.
