A dispersal order is being put in place as part of a policing operation during a derby match between Southampton and south coast rival Portsmouth. The football teams meet for their first league match in 13 years on Sunday and there is a history of clashes between the two sets of supporters.Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary said the Section 34 order would be in place from 07:00 to 19:00 BST, covering the city centre and parts of Woolston and Bitterne.Dispersal orders give officers the power to order a person to leave an area and not to return within a specified time period.Assistant Chief Constable Tony Rowlinson said the force was "really looking forward to playing our part" in making the much-anticipated game a great sporting event for all those attending."We know most fans will want to enjoy the unique atmosphere this game brings without any trouble and our policing operation is there to ensure that," he said."This dispersal order is one of many tactics we have at our disposal to respond quickly and effectively to anyone who is intent on causing disruption and we hope it sends a clear message that we will be ready to take action to keep everyone safe."Southampton's Saints Foundation and Portsmouth's Pompey in the Community have been running joint workshops on anti-social behaviour ahead of the game.Hampshire's police and crime commissioner Donna Jones said there was a "tremendous" policing plan in place, with work beginning on it when it was known both teams would be playing in the championship this season.
