With a surname that roughly translates to ‘gifted’, Désiré Doué was destined for the top.

The French footballer’s move to the Parisian club from Rennes came off the back of his impressive debut at the Olympic Games Paris 2024, scoring once en route to the final where France secured the silver medal on home soil.

Doué has since enjoyed a fantastic debut season with Paris Saint-Germain. He secured the domestic double of Ligue 1 and the Coupe de France, with 28 goal contributions and counting across all competitions.

It is an impressive list of accomplishments for any player to tally up before the age of 20, and he could cap that off three days before his 20th birthday with the ultimate prize in club football: the UEFA Champions League.

“I don’t intend to stop,” Doué told Téléfoot (via Paris Fans) this season. “I’ve got to keep going, but it’s all down to daily discipline. And I think everything will go my way…I realise how lucky I am to be able to play football every day, it’s a blessing for me.”

Doué and PSG can write history if they secure the club’s first men’s European title in Munich, Germany, in a season where the forward has already shown that he means business on the big stage.
