Colin Munro produced a breathtaking display of power hitting to propel the Trinbago Knight Riders to a 12-run win over the St Kitts & Nevis Patriots in the 2025 Caribbean Premier League. The New Zealand left-hander blasted 120 from just 57 deliveries, striking 14 fours and six sixes at a strike rate of 210. Opening the innings alongside Alex Hales, Munro helped lay the foundation with a partnership of 114 inside nine overs, ensuring the Knight Riders posted a formidable 231 for 5 at Warner Park.Munro was particularly dominant down the ground, dispatching both pace and spin back past the bowler with authority. His innings not only eclipsed Nicholas Pooran’s unbeaten 102 against Barbados in 2023 as the Knight Riders’ highest individual CPL score, but also made him just the second overseas player—after Faf du Plessis—to register two centuries in the tournament.Although the Patriots mounted a spirited chase, finishing on 219 for 7 with Jason Holder top scoring with 44, the target ultimately proved beyond reach. Their slow start, managing only 23 runs from the opening three overs, left too much to do in the closing stages.Munro’s match-winning contribution earned him the Player of the Match award and cemented the Knight Riders’ strong start to the competition.© Cricket World 2025
