The final is set at the ATP BNP Paribas Open and features two former World No.1s chasing their first Indian Wells title. #2 seed Jannik Sinner is in his maiden final appearance, while Daniil Medvedev is in his third attempt after runner-up finishes in 2023 and 2024. Neither player has dropped a set en route to the final, and it promises to be a fascinating encounter. As always, we at LWOT will offer our prediction for the match, but who will lift the trophy?ATP Indian Wells Final PredictionJannik Sinner vs Daniil MedvedevHead-to-Head: Sinner 8-7 MedvedevJannik Sinner played a fantastic match to defeat world No.4 Alexander Zverev in straight sets. He is in his first final of the season as well as his first-ever Indian Wells final. Zverev started the match strongly with two holds of serve without losing a point. However, Sinner adjusted his return position, and it worked perfectly as the German started missing first serves and got broken. The Italian has gotten better with each round in this tournament and will look to bring his best tennis in the final.Daniil Medvedev ended Carlos Alcaraz’s 16-match win streak by playing some of his best tennis in recent years. It was a vintage Medvedev performance, but with added aggression. He suffocated Alcaraz on returns, found a perfect balance of defense and offense and was brilliant on serve, especially behind the second. Overall, it was an outstanding display of tennis from the former World No.1, and this should give him a lot of confidence heading into the final.Sinner has won eight of the last ten matches between these two, and most of the recent matches haven’t even been competitive. However, Medvedev is playing the kind of tennis which used to cause problems for Sinner earlier in their rivalry, and even though Sinner has improved a lot, it won’t be easy for him to deal with this version of the Russian player. Sinner is serving great and will back himself in the serve-return dynamic. Medvedev’s best chance would be to keep this close, make it as physical as possible and see if Sinner breaks. I will back the Italian but expect a great contest.Prediction: Sinner in 2Main Photo Credit: Mike Frey-Imagn Images
