'Longleat at 60' and 'chocolate factory'

This week Longleat celebrated 60 years since launching as a "world-first" and resident doctors went on strike in a dispute over pay and jobs.

Elsewhere, a production of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory opened and walkers captured pictures of a stunning sunrise on the hottest day of the year so far.

Making a difference: The Coach and Horses in Kingsholm has started allowing charities to use the pub as a community space in a scheme called the Homeground Project.

Roaring success: BBC Points West presenter Amanda Parr took a trip to Longleat this week as the Warminster safari park celebrated its 60th anniversary.

Something sweet: We went behind the scenes at the new production of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, which has opened at the Wyvern Theatre in Swindon.
