Ireland ended their losing run at the Women's World Cup qualifier with an emphatic 46-run win over Thailand in Lahore.

Three straight defeats had ruined Irish hopes of finishing in the top two and sealing their spot at the tournament, but they were able to salvage something by flexing their muscles in their penultimate outing.

They cleared 300 for the just the fourth time in ODI cricket, finishing on 305 for four as Gaby Lewis (75 from 89 balls) and Amy Hunter (76 from 71) did the damage.

Leah Paul also had some fun at the back end of the innings, with her rapid-fire 67 containing 10 fours and a six.

They proceeded to bowl their opponents out for 259, with Louise Little wrapping things up in the final over to complete figures of five for 28.
