Police in Derry say they are investigating public disorder between rival groups before and after a football match in the city last night. The trouble happened near the Lecky Road Flyover close to Derry City's Brandywell ground around 7pm.Derry City were playing Dublin side Bohemians in a league match which ended in a 1-1 draw.Police said they had been made aware of two large groups attacking each other with sticks, bats and iron bars and causing damage to buildings and vehicles.A teenage boy and a man in his 20s sustained injuries and were taken to hospital.Police said further disorder continued in the vicinity of the Brandywell during and after the match.Videos posted online showed clashes, including a commercial firework being fired horizontally by one group. The PSNI said they had worked with stadium security staff to bring the disorder under control. There were no arrests."We believe that the disorder we witnessed on Friday evening was pre-arranged and we will be reviewing all available footage to identify those involved," Superintendent William Calderwood said."I would ask anyone with information or footage which could assist us with our enquiries to contact officers at Strand Road."Sinn Féin MLA Padraig Delargy condemned the violence."The sight of masked youths armed with an array of weapons, and fighting in the streets before turning on the PSNI was terrifying for local residents, including children, who witnessed this appalling violence. He claimed the violence had been "pre-arranged" and claimed it started when "so-called football supporters" from Dublin attacked local people."That is disgraceful and the violence that took place on our streets needs to be condemned. He said the violence had threatened people's safety and undermined good work going on in the area.
