Rangers could have just made a statement signing in their search for silverware this season.That is according to ex-Aberdeen, Aston Villa, and Everton chief executive Keith Wyness, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, after Rangers signed Andreas Skov Olsen from Wolfsburg on loan for the rest of the season.The 26-year-old was unveiled to the Ibrox crowd before Rangers’ 5-0 Scottish Cup win against Annan Athletic.The winger becomes the third signing under Danny Rohl in the January transfer window, with the German looking to bolster his squad in a bid to win the Scottish Premiership title.Rangers make ‘big’ January signingAberdeen’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Pittodrie between 2000 and 2004, had lengthy spells as the chief of Everton and Aston Villa and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – is backing Skov Olsen to “flourish” at Rangers.Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast, Wyness thinks Skov Olsen could also benefit from the move to Ibrox.He told Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast: “Yeah, look, I think he’s had about 40 international caps and there’s no doubt he plays, but he’s not done that well at Wolfsburg.MORE FOOTBALL INSIDER STORIES“I think he could actually flourish at Ibrox. So I think that will be a big upgrade for Rangers and I think that having that experience in the squad as well is something that would be helpful. I don’t think he’s going to be buying any duds.“I think he’s going to be able to get the best out of a player who may have just not adapted to Germany well, but I think he could do very well at Ibrox.
