Rishabh was still an India U19 player when he entered his first-ever IPL auction in 2016. Delhi Capitals (then known as Delhi Daredevils) bought the wicketkeeper-batsman for Rs 1.90 crore. Rishabh made his India debut in 2017.Delhi Capitals (DC) saw a future star in Rishabh and retained him before the IPL 2018 mega-auction for Rs 8 crore. He was DC's first-choice retention before the IPL 2022 mega-auction and was retained for a huge sum of Rs 16 crore.Rishabh looked set to be DC forever but their partnership came to an end before IPL 2025 and Rishabh will be part of an auction only for the second time. The former DC captain has set his base price at Rs 2 crore. Rishabh is among the marquee players and is the third player on the list.Rishabh is tipped to shatter records and become the costliest-ever pick in the history of IPL auctions. Teams like Punjab Kings and Royal Challengers Bengaluru need a new captain and they have enough purse to spend heavily on one player.Virat Kohli is the only Indian player who has managed to breach the 20-crore salary mark. RCB retained him for Rs 21 crore on the IPL 2025 retention day.Players retained by Delhi CapitalsDelhi Capitals spent Rs 47 crore before the mega-auction and retained four players. Axar Patel was DC's first retention for Rs 16.50 crore. Kuldeep Yadav was retained for Rs 13.25 crore. Tristan Stubbs will have a salary of Rs 10 crore.Uncapped batsman Abhishek Porel was retained for Rs 4 crore. They have two Right to Match cards left. They can use both cards on capped players. It will be interesting to see if DC try to sign their former captain, Shreyas Iyer or not.
