Packers Injury Report: Green Bay releases practice estimations for Week 17

Despite Green Bay Packers head coach Matt LaFleur saying on Christmas Eve that the team would be working on Christmas Day, Green Bay’s player did not suit up for practice on Wednesday, according to the injury report. The same could be said about the Minnesota Vikings, their opponent in Week 17.

The Packers released a practice estimation, their plan on how they would have used players IF they did have a practice today, though. The estimated full participants with injury designations on Wednesday were cornerback Jaire Alexander (knee) and cornerback Corey Ballentine (knee). Alexander was a full participant in five of the Packers’ last six practices, but he’s been inactive for Green Bay’s last five games. Hopefully, he’ll be ready on Sunday when the Packers will need him to line up against receivers Justin Jefferson and/or Jordan Addison.

The estimated limited participants for Green Bay were safety Javon Bullard (ankle), tight end Tucker Kraft (hip) and tight end Luke Musgrave (ankle). While Bullard didn’t play last week, Musgrave returned to the lineup on a pitch count. Kraft’s injury appears to be new. Keep an eye on all these injuries throughout the week.

The estimated non-participants in practice on Christmas Day were linebacker Ty’Ron Hopper (ankle), linebacker Quay Walker (ankle), receiver Christian Watson (knee) and safety Evan Williams (quad). Hopper dropped out against the New Orleans Saints on Monday Night Football, but he also returned to the field. Walker and Williams both missed last week’s action. Following the game, LaFleur stated that the hope is that Williams will be back in the lineup by the time the postseason comes around, so don’t expect him to suit up this week, either.

Watson, meanwhile, dropped out against the Saints twice. The final exit was a choice by the coaching staff, who believed he couldn’t play at full force. According to LaFleur, Watson’s leg injury is a bruising issue, which is not expected to have a long-term impact on the receiver. There’s a chance that he could play against the Vikings on Sunday.

The only significant injury that the Vikings are dealing with right now is starting safety Harrison Smith (foot) being a non-participant.
