Six-time Grand Slam winner, Carlos Alcaraz, is an Australian Open title away from completing a career Grand Slam. The Spaniard has won three of the four tennis majors – French Open, Wimbledon, US Open – twice previously, but the ‘fun slam’ has evaded him so far.Alcaraz’s best performances in this competition came in ’24 and ’25, when bowed out at the quarter-final stage on both occasions.Coming into the latest edition, the 22-year-old has been working on his focus in matches and ‘staying positive’.“I just need to maintain my focus and not lose it during the matches or the tournament,” he said. “I’ve tried to maintain things off the court much better, which I think will help on the court [to give] 100 per cent.“That’s something I’ve been working on: to be happy, to behave well, to stay positive all the time. I think those things, some people may think aren’t important, but for me in tennis it’s the most important things.”The world no.1 will open his bid to become the youngest man to win the career Grand Slam against Australia’s Adam Walton.
