Aryna Sabalenka’s engagement announcement draws reactions from top tennis stars

World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka is sure to be feeling like a huge winner right now ahead of her 2026 Indian Wells campaign, after sharing the news of her engagement to boyfriend Georgios Frangulis.

Sabalenka was greeted with well wishes and congratulatory messages from her fellow peers and stars in tennis, after she announced her engagement through a post on Instagram

Two-time major winner Coco Gauff offered her best wishes to the happy couple and so too did this year’s Australian Open Men’s champion Carlos Alcaraz.

“Congratulations,” wrote Gauff.

“Congratulatiooooons!” proclaimed Alcaraz.

24 time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic shared his own positive reaction for Sabalenka and her fiancé with a message of three heart emojis.

Sabalenka also congratulated by other sports stars

Some huge names from other sports were also thrilled to hear of Sabalenka’s engagement, including Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand and Olympic and American skiing great Lindsey Vonn.

“Congrats guys – great couple,” wrote Ferdinand.

“Congrats!!” said Vonn.

Later this week, Sabalenka will look to find her her best form as she seeks to win the 2026 BNP Paribas Open, especially after she fell short against Elena Rybakina in the final of this year’s Australian Open.

And perhaps Sabalenka can draw extra energy and inspiration from the heartfelt messages she has received following one of the most joyful moments of her life.
