Italy is calling for the top tennis players in the world, as the 2025 Italian Open (7-18 May) takes place in Rome.

The road to Roland-Garros and the clay-court Grand Slam continues its tour through Europe's capital cities, this time stopping at the Foro Italico for the ATP Masters 1000 and WTA 1000 tournament.

Locally known as the Internazionali BNL d'Italia, the headline act sees the return of Italian superstar and men’s world number one Jannik Sinner to the fold. He has just completed his three-month suspension from tennis, after reaching a settlement with the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) over his two positive doping tests in 2024.

The women’s singles draw also features a top-10 Italian carrying the flag: Jasmine Paolini, World no. 5 and Paris 2024 gold medallist. Currently sitting 16th in the calendar-year rankings, the 29-year-old returns as the defending doubles champion alongside Olympic champion partner Sara Errani.
