Former Manchester United full-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka returned to Old Trafford over the weekend and made an impact with West Ham United in the Premier League clash.

The 27-year-old joined the Hammers from United back in the summer, and it was his first time back at Old Trafford since making the move. The game saw West Ham come out as 2-0 winners thanks to goals from Tomas Soucek and Jarrod Bowen either side of half-time.

Wan-Bissaka provided the assist for Bowen’s goal and earned praise for his performance on his return to Old Trafford.

After the game, he took to social media to give his response. Sharing pictures from before and during the match on his Instagram page, he wrote: “Big W. Thanks for the warm reception today OT.”

Following the match, West Ham boss Graham Potter claimed that the full-back is now playing the best football of his career. “He's been really impressive,” he said.

“As I've said before, I can't say this categorically because I don't know Aaron's career, but I can't imagine he's played as well [before] as he has for us at this point in his career.

“He looks like he's enjoying his football. He gives a lot to the team, really pleased with what he's giving to the team offensively and defensively. As I said, it looks like he's enjoying his football.

“And that's not easy because the results we've had haven't been that enjoyable. But nevertheless, his individual performances have been strong.”

During his five years at Old Trafford, Wan Bissaka played a total of 190 times for United, scoring two goals and providing 13 assists.
