Indian tennis player Niki Poonacha and his partner Pruchya Isaro of Thailand fell short of the doubles title at the Pune ATP Challenger 2026 (Maha Open) on Saturday, losing the final to the Republic of Korea’s Nam Ji-sung and Finland’s Patrik Niklas-Salminen.

Playing at the Balewadi Stadium, the second-seeded Indo-Thai tennis pair lost to their fourth-seeded opponents 6-4, 6(1)-7(7), 10-7 in the final.

After losing the opening set, Pruchya Isaro and Niki Kaliyanda Poonacha, who won the Chennai Open doubles title last week, lost the second before going down in the super tie-breaker.

In the singles semi-finals, Felix Gill of Great Britain displayed grit and composure to overcome eighth seed Edas Butvilas of Lithuania 6-4, 7-5 in a tightly contested encounter that lasted an hour and 44 minutes.

Felix Gill held his nerve in crucial moments, breaking at decisive junctures in both sets to seal his place in the final.

Sixth seed and former world No. 4 junior Federico Cina of Italy was equally impressive as he outplayed Duje Ajdukovic of Croatia 7-5, 6-2 in an hour and 15 minutes.

After edging a closely fought first set, Cina raised his intensity in the second and dictated rallies from the baseline to close out the match in straight sets.

World No. 300 Felix Gill will take on Federico Cina, 223rd in the men’s singles rankings, in the Maha Open final on Sunday.
