Virat Kohli was left infuriated when a simple communication error by Yash Dayal and Jitesh Sharma ended up giving Suryakumar Yadav a lifeline.

Virat Kohli was not exactly pleased when the Royal Challengers Bengaluru fumbled a fairly easy chance to get rid of Suryakumar Yadav during the clash against Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Monday.

Yash Dayal, who bowled the delivery against Sky, had bowled a back-of-the-hand slower delivery which the MI batter and Indian T20I skipper had mistimed to send the ball straight up in the air. In a moment of confusion, Dayal had not communicated clearly to the wicketkeeper, Jitesh Sharma, as the two collided and dropped a catch.

But it was Kohli’s reaction that took the spotlight. The batting icon was seen infuriated by the simple error in judgement and was seen yelling in frustration even resulting in the veteran throwing his cap on the floor as well.

However, RCB managed to hit back not too long after with Dayal once again creating a chance, and the slower delivery once again got the better of Suryakumar, who looked to hit it but ended up finding the fielder by the square-leg region as Liam Livingstone took the catch with ease.

RCB were able to set a target of 222 thanks to fifties by both Virat Kohli and Rajat Patidar alongside quickfire cameos by both Devdutt Padikkal and Jitesh Sharma as well. Jasprit Bumrah, who made his return to cricket after three months, finished as the most economical bowler whilst all the others went at over 10 runs per over.
