Yaya Toure 'disappointed' with Arsenal after seeing them beat Chelsea as he insists performance matters

Arsenal might have beaten Chelsea to keep themselves clear by five points but Yaya Toure has called out the Gunners for what he called a ‘disappointing’ display.

The Gunners got over the line thanks to goals from Jurrien Timber and William Saliba but struggled to see Chelsea off fully.

This is becoming a bit of a theme for Arsenal and while three points was key, former Man City ace Yaya Toure believes fans deserve a bit more.

Yaya Toure claims Arsenal’s performances do matter despite beating Chelsea

Every football fan and manager would like to see their team playing free-flowing football and creating chance after chance but sometimes, it can’t happen.

Still, for Toure, it’s about winning and producing a performance and he feels Arsenal fans are entitled to demand more from their team.

“The first half was ok, it was ok. But I feel a bit disappointed, you know” Toure said on Sky Sports.

“Because we want to see flowing games with scoring goals, chances created and things like that but we saw three goals, all from set-pieces, so it was strange.

“I think it does matter. Winning was obviously important for Arsenal but as a fan, I want to see more you know.”

We have seen some free-flowing football at times from Arsenal this season and we’ve seen in recent years how the likes of Man City and Liverpool have destroyed teams as well.

However, we’ve also seen City do what Arsenal are doing, which is simply being defensively sound enough to get over the line and rely on one goal to swing the game.

Interestingly, this season has seen Arsenal win by a one goal margin 11 times. They’ve won 1-0 six times, 2-1 three times, and snuck two 3-2 wins in the process.

Stats suggest their average winning score this season is either 1-0 or 2-1, when last season their average winning margin put them closer to 2-0.
