Hugo Ekitike clearly wants Liverpool to sign Michael Olise after eye-catching admission

Hugo Ekitike has made his feelings clear on how he views Michael Olise.

The Frenchman has been on fire for Liverpool ever since he signed from Eintracht Frankfurt in the summer for a £79 million deal, which has paid off thus far for the Reds.

Ekitike returned to his former club Frankfurt last night and scored against them in the 5-1 Champions League win, where the player decided not to celebrate his goal in front of his old fans.

While Arne Slot’s side have spent over £400 million this summer, there are always fans looking towards other options for them to sign to bolster the squad, and one of those is Ekitike’s French teammate Olise.

Crystal Palace’s former winger has been touted as one of the top targets to replace Mohamed Salah whenever he decides to leave the club in the next few years.

Hugo Ekitike says Michael Olise is one of his three favourite wingers to watch

This season for Bayern Munich, he has nine goal contributions in both the Bundesliga and Champions League, which shows he can produce quality consistently.

It would seem that his teammate Ekitike would love the player to join his football club, given what he said about him in a recent interview.

Speaking to ESPN, the player was asked about his three favourite wingers to watch, with Lamine Yamal and Mohamed Salah the first two, as Olise made it on the list as his third.

When the interviewer spoke of how much he liked the 23-year-old French winger, Ekitike replied: “Yeah, mad.”

Clearly, he is very enamoured by his quality and would want to link up with him at Liverpool, given his answer.

The pair would work well together, given that they are international teammates, and how the French media reacted to Ekitike and Olise playing together during the recent international break should be a huge positive for fans.

The experience of the player being at such a big club like Bayern and his Premier League stint with Palace make him the ideal candidate to fit into this Liverpool squad.

Michael Olise is a perfect Mohamed Salah successor

While names like Antoine Semenyo are also brilliant options for a Salah replacement, Olise would be the one to fit right into their squad.

Already, his goal contributions this season have shown him to be an amazing player, but his experiences at different clubs at such a young age will make him a good successor to the great Egyptian winger.

It may be a year or so until there is a clear plan in place for when Salah decides to leave; however, monitoring the situation of Olise is key for the Reds who will not want to miss their opportunity.
