Sunrisers Hyderabad chased down 245 against Punjab Kings with 8 wickets in hand and 9 balls to spare on Saturday to record the second-highest successful run chase in IPL history at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad.

While SRH's chasing down the big total remained the talking point, what left everyone stunned was Ishan Kishan 's failure to spot the ball in the middle of the ground while fielding.

The incident happened right after Punjab Kings opted to bat first against SRH. When Mohammed Shami was bowling the opening over of the match, PBKS opener Prabhsimran Singh drove past the bowler on the second delivery of the game.

Ishan Kishan managed to stop the ball but could not catch hold of it. He was then unable to spot the ball despite it being positioned right next to him, leaving captain Pat Cummins shocked and irritated.

Cummins then rushed to collect the ball and throw it towards the wicketkeeper Heinrich Klaasen. Unhappy with Ishan Kishan's act, Cummins was seen gesturing with his hands, expressing his displeasure with the entire effort of the SRH top-order batter.

In between this drama, the umpire signalled a short run and Punjab Kings got a single. Commentator Harsha Bhogle was on the mike at the moment of the incident and said, “We have the meme of the tournament.”

Abhishek Sharma Hits Big Hundred, SRH Win

PBKS openers Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran gave a flying start to their team, going past the 50-run mark inside three overs. Eventually, Harshal Patel gave SRH the much-needed breakthrough by dismissing Priyansh for 36 off 13 balls.

With PBKS collecting 66 runs from the opening wicket partnership inside four overs, captain Shreyas Iyer played a brilliant knock of 82 off 36 balls before Harshal took his wicket. A few overs later, Ishan Kishan midfielded again, allowing Shreyas Iyer and Prabhsimran to get a couple. This time Cummins was the bowler. With Prabhsimran scoring 42 off 23 balls and Marcus Stoinis hitting an 11-ball 34, PBKS posted 245 for 6.

However, SRH chased down the target inside 18.3 overs, with opener Abhishek Sharma playing a destructive knock to singlehandedly pulverize the PBKS bowlers. The left-handed batter took just 40 balls to complete his hundred. He was eventually dismissed for 141 off 55 balls by Arshdeep Singh. Abhishek's innings was studded with 10 sixes and 14 boundaries.
