Coco Gauff is half the way to a career Slam, with just two more major tournaments needed to complete the set.

One of those is the Australia Open, which Gauff comes into ranked No.3 in the world as a result of some excellent tennis last year.

Still just 21, the American took a step closer to the accolade in 2025 when she stormed to victory at Roland Garros by defeating Aryna Sabalenka across three sets. Gauff won the U.S. Open in 2023 as a teenager, leaving just the Australia Open and Wimbledon to go.

In preparation for the upcoming Open, Gauff competed at the United Cup, where she registered yet another victory over Iga Świątek.

Having already competed in the AO 1 Point Slam, the third seed is in high spirits ahead of the main draw commencing on Sunday (18 January).

Gauff will face Uzbekistan’s Kamilla Rakhimova in the first round, with a potential clash with Venus Williams on the cards in round two.
