Defending women’s singles champion Barbora Krejčíková will open her Wimbledon 2025 campaign against Filipino starlet Alexandra Eala.

The Czech Olympic tennis champion, who stormed to a second Grand Slam singles trophy last year, arrives at SW19 after cutting short her Eastbourne campaign with an injury ahead of the quarter-finals.

Krejčíková returns to south-west London with an enticing meeting against 20-year-old Eala, who has burst on to the scene this season after a run to the Miami semi-finals and is also into the final four at Eastbourne, the final grass competition before Wimbledon.

For reigning men’s singles champion Carlos Alcaraz, his title defence begins against 38-year-old Fabio Fognini of Italy. The Spaniard is targeting a third consecutive Wimbledon title, now with five Grand Slams to his name following Roland-Garros.

The main draw consists of 128 players each for the men’s and women’s singles competitions, beginning on Monday (30 June).
