Teenager Vaibhav Sooryavanshi hits 78 off 26 as Rajasthan Royals chase 201 to beat Royal Challengers Bengaluru by six wickets in IPL.

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi delivered another stunning performance as the 15-year-old smashed 78 runs off just 26 balls to guide Rajasthan Royals (RR) to a comfortable six-wicket win over defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

His explosive innings, which included seven sixes, made the chase of 201 look easy, as Rajasthan completed it with two overs to spare.

At an age when most teenagers are busy with school exams, the youngster from Samastipur in Bihar is making headlines on the biggest cricketing stage. Known for his fearless batting and incredible bat speed, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi once again showed why he is regarded as a future star.

After Bumrah, Hazlewood Flies Too

After taking on Jasprit Bumrah in a previous match (against Mumbai Indians), he turned his attention to Josh Hazlewood in this game, striking him for multiple boundaries with ease.

Despite facing top-quality bowling, the teenager remained calm and focused on his approach. “I try to execute what I practice and back my natural game. Yes, at the back of your mind, you know who the bowler (Bumrah or Hazlewood) is but you play the ball not the bowler," said Sooryavanshi, who attacked Hazlewood with confidence.

Even with his growing fame, Sooryavanshi stays grounded, crediting his family and team support for keeping him focused. “They always tell me that it is a long journey and my focus should only and only be on the game," he said, referring to the guidance from his father Sanjiv and the team support staff.

However, the young batter admitted he was slightly disappointed after getting out on 78, feeling he could have contributed more to the team’s total. “My thinking is that had I been around, I could have scored 20 more runs which would be beneficial for the team," Sooryavanshi said at the post-match presentation ceremony.
