Cole Palmer and Reece James left gutted after Chelsea news out of Stamford Bridge

Yesterday turned out to be an extremely busy one for Chelsea in the transfer market.

Chelsea continue to offload players at a rapid rate, with three individuals securing exits on Wednesday.

After just one season at Stamford Bridge, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, 26, completed a permanent move to Everton in midweek. Everton manager David Moyes is excited about the Dewsbury-Hall signing, claiming the midfielder had plenty of interest before deciding to choose Merseyside.

Elsewhere, Chelsea completed the sale of defensive midfielder Lesley Ugochukwu, 21, to Burnley. The Blues also allowed 19-year-old striker Marc Guiu to join Sunderland on a season-long loan.

Cole Palmer and Reece James gutted by Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall sale

Dewsbury-Hall uploaded a heartfelt post on Instagram to say goodbye to Chelsea after securing his move to Everton.

In the comment section, Blues stars Reece James and Cole Palmer appeared to be upset with his exit.

Even though reports claimed that Dewsbury-Hall was reluctant to leave Chelsea this summer, he’s joined Premier League rivals Everton on a five-year deal. On paper, it feels like a great deal for all parties involved.

The left-footed midfielder was an effective squad player for the Blues last season, scoring five goals and creating four assists in 36 matches across all competitions.

It’s fantastic that Dewsbury-Hall has added a Club World Cup and Conference League medal to his list of achievements, but he should be playing a lot more football as he enters the prime years of his career. At Everton, we’re confident that he can do just that.

Everton supporters believe Dewsbury-Hall starts for them when he joins the Toffees.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall replacements at Chelsea

Even though Dewsbury-Hall struggled to get into Chelsea’s XI last term, he was a very useful option in reserve behind Moises Caicedo, Romeo Lavia and Enzo Fernandez. In fact, he was a key player in the Blues’ success in winning the Conference League.

His exit has opened the door for central midfielders Andrey Santos and Dario Essugo to shine in the upcoming season.

Essugo was likely to stay at Chelsea if Dewsbury-Hall departed, so he can now provide extra depth in the centre of the park. As for Santos, he’s a box-to-box midfielder we expect big things from after his development on loan at Strasbourg.
